Research Group Reflection on Action

Lectoraat Reflectie op het handelen

Initiated and funded by the Amsterdam University for Professional Education (Hogeschool van Amsterdam). The research group was active from May 2003 until April 2007. Its main goal was to develop the use of reflection in experiential learning of students engaged in professional education.

Activities
The research group was composed of a dozen lecturers and educational professionals. The group started by doing research on existing theories and models of reflection, and subsequently developed these into tools for reflection, distinguishing between the areas of reflection on Myself, on Method, and on Society. The group investigated reflecting on positive experiences and reflection on the future as an alternative to the more common form of reflection on negative experiences in the past.

Results
Tools for reflection were developed, tested and made available on the website
